Being a research based company it was only ever a matter of time before we released the benefits of a true 4 into 1 header design to the general public.
Have a good long look at these headers, because we reckon they are the best. Why? Well our reasons are simple, and straightforward. For a start they are engineered specifically for the LS1 Gen III engine as used in the VT/VX/VU Commodores, rather than simply being a rehash of an older design for a different engine. As far as improvement over existing 4 into 2 into 1 interference type headers there are gains to be had right across the rev range. Old wives tales such as loss of bottom end torque and peaky power delivery can be attributed to any poorly designed header regardless of its basic layout. The 4 into 1 though offers advantages in the area of effective pulse scavenging, which helps suck the exhaust gas out of opposing cylinders, which can be felt as greater response under foot, and seen as bigger power on the dyno. To help keep as much bottom end torque as possible we have keep the primary diamter to 1 - 5/8th of an inch.
